TGIF at GReads!
This Friday's Question:
Show Me Your Cover: What are some of the worst book covers, but hold some of the best stories inside? Don't be embarrassed, show us your cover!
This has NOTHING to do with the book!! I finished reading it and thought, "A really good story! A weird cover!"
She looks ill and she's not! The book itself was fantastic.
I HATE HATE HATE this cover. This is my very favorite book of all time and they had to go and Twilight-ize it! That is so not Jane Austen. Grrrr!!!
The threads for Emma's hair are totally creepy. Medusa?? This book is also fantastic. (Yes, I'm a Austen fan!)
hahaha omg they totally made that Twilight-esque! Yuck. I'm noticing a trend with the Elizabeth Scott books.. what's up with the feet?! At least the one you chose has shoes on! Ha. I do love her stories though. Such great YA contemps.
ReplyDeleteall of elizabeth scott's books are like that! i love the stories, but the covers are too...something...
ReplyDeletegood choices! ~dixie
I don't like that cover for Emma either (quite a few covers for Emma I don't like actually).
ReplyDeleteI agree. Jane Austin is so NOT Twilight.
ReplyDeleteI hate book covers that change after the movie comes out. Just leave it alone! I read it for the story, not the movie.
Hi Melissa, I was trolling through the A to Z Challenge List just now and found your blog. Great post on covers, and totally agree with the Pride and Prejudice/Twilight-copy cat cover. That is bad, bad bad!
ReplyDeleteCovers are one of those subjective things that can really help or hurt book sales. Also agree with above commenter about books that change to the filmography cover after the movie comes out. My personal pet peeve!
